“If there is any secret to this life I live, this is it: the sound of what cannot be seen sings within everything that can. & there is nothing more to it than that.” | storypeople

When I was young, I used to go for long walks to our woods and spend hours sitting in the quiet and the peace, watching water flow over and around rocks and sticks in the stream. I always felt inside of me a calmness and peace. That was before I was afraid of ticks and kidnappers and bears and whatever else I can imagine will happen to me alone in the woods now. In fact, it seems that I am afraid of a lot of things these days. So I search for peace and calmness. In the little things. In the things that cannot talk, that cannot frighten me. While I know that these gifts come from within, it helps when I can find a place that calms me. On my 1200+ mile journey I found santuary at The Marina Grand in New Buffalo, MI.

The fog was settling, the sky was hazy, the wood was damp. It was beautiful.
